Plumcroft Supports the Lone Children of Calais

Plumcroft staff and pupils are raising money for the unaccompanied refugee children living in the Calais 'Jungle'.  Find out how you can help.

Hundreds of unaccompanied children are currently stuck in horrendous conditions in the Calais 'Jungle' just 40 miles from the UK.

Staff from Plumcroft Primary School are keen to  support the children in the camp who don't have an adult looking after them. Already traumatised children are facing daily dangers, which are set to increase with the clearance of the camp in late October. Nearly 400 of these unaccompanied children have a legal right to join their relatives in the UK. We are supporting 'Safe Passage UK' who are working with lawyers, social workers and local authorities to bring the children to a place of greater safety. Plumcroft children, families and staff will be carrying out a range of further fundraising and awareness raising activities on Friday 21st October including a whole school song in the playground. Please do join us!

Mr Greenwald and Miss Evans will be cycling from New Cross to Richmond and back again . Miss Nicol, Mrs Beckley and Ms Spicer will be walking from Woolwich to Westminster along the river.
