Curriculum

At Plumcroft we are proud of our broad and balanced curriculum that allows our pupils to explore their strengths and constantly develop aspects they find more challenging.  Alongside our strong maths and literacy planning - including an excellent Early Years reading programme - we follow the International Primary Curriculum, which provides a varied, topic-based approach to all other curriculum subjects.

Each year group gets a half term of music with Kay Charlton, our music specialist. This usually relates to topic work that the children are working on, and has included The Rainforest, Art and Music and work around story telling. This year we are using the BBC’s Ten Pieces as inspiration. All of our music-making covers the aims of the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1& 2
•        Perform, listen and review/evaluate wide range of music
•        Sing, play a musical instrument and compose
•        Promote understanding and exploration through inter-related dimensions

Please follow the links below to discover the specific topics covered by each year group in all curriculum areas.
